Shropshire (and Derbyshire) based commercial composting operators Vital Earth Ltd. who compost garden waste and food waste from Shropshire households on behalf of the Council and Veolia have appeared on national TV this week.  The programme focused on the progress of peat reduction in British commercial and domestic gardening.

Vital Earth’s products are made by recycling locally sourced and fully sanitised garden waste to produce a range of more than thirty peat-free, environmentally-friendly organic composts and fertilisers.

Countryfile is exploring the Government’s targets on peat usage reduction and featuring Vital Earth as an exemplar in the drive to meet those targets.  The programme featured Vital Earth’s pioneering investment in state of the art In-Vessel Composting technology at their Ashbourne facility in Derbyshire.
